Optical transition in quasi-two-dimensional nanostructures

In this paper, we study energy spectrum and probability of a transition in energy levels in one second (with dipole approximation) of single particle system in double potential well. At first, we studied energy spectrum of a particle and wave equations in rectangular potential well. Obtained precise analytical results were used to find energy levels of two wells and their wave equations. I did the same thing with perturbation theory and I compared the results. After that, with dipole approximation, I calculated the dependence of probability of a transition from second energy level to first on effective mass and on length of the well's obstacle. Studies showed that this dependence has physically correct behavior. Also, we were convinced in the legitimacy of perturbation theory, especially in first and second energy conditions. This study method can be used in potentials with greater periods than two.
