Annotation:
The construction of hydraulic structures is associated with a change in the original nature of the environment. In parallel with the implementation of the project, the existing ecosystem changes and is affected, in the chain link of which all the components of the environment participate. The hydrological regime of the river, the geological environment, the geodynamic processes are activated and changed. Changes in bed morphology lead to the loss of agricultural land, which has a negative impact on the social environment. Given that the Georgian National Energy Policy aims to maximize the use of abundant water resources in the country and considers the development of hydropower as a state priority, the issue is very relevant. Proper determination of ecological flow of rivers leads to sustainable development of hydropower projects, which means a high rate of generation, reduction of environmental risks and maintaining the stability of the geo-ecological environment (Ecological; Geological environment).
