Transformation of tetrahydrozoline enantiomers: A chromatographic study
Author: nino chauchidzeAnnotation:
In this thesis an enantiomerization of tetrahydrozoline was studied by using dynamic chromatography while a racemization process of the same enantiomers was followed based on classical chemical kinetics. The emphasis was made on possible catalytic role of a chiral stationary phase used for separation of enantiomers. In addition, the potential of diethylamine (used for improvement of peak shape in chromatography), as a homogenous catalyst of the process was also studied. The results indicated that chiral stationary phase plays a role of heterogeneous catalyst, while diethylamine a role of a homogeneous catalyst of studied transformations.
