Transformation of oxazepam enantiomers: A chromatographic study

Author: juli parkosadze
Annotation:

The goal of our research was to study of effect of temperature on the separation process of oxazepam enantiomers on coated cellulose tris (3,5-methylphenylcarbamate)-based and immobilized cellulose tris (3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamate) chiral stationary phase in hight-performance liquid chromatograpy (HPLC) with methanol as a mobile phase. Based on the obtained results the rate constants and activation energy of enantiomerization process were determined. Enantiomerization is a process describing the reversible conversion of one enantiomer into the other on a microscopic level. Temperature dependence of rate constants of enantiomerization can be conveniently studied chromatographically using peak shape analysis. A peak form analyisis describes the elution profiles of interconverting enantiomers during their resolution on a chiral stationary phase in a HPLC column.
