Measurement of Nitric Oxides Concentrations in Atmospheric Air Using Budget Sensors and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Author: monika kartvelishviliAnnotation:
The atmosphere is the basic condition for the existence of life on earth. Its lower boundary is the Earth's surface, ocean, and biosphere, also known as the planetary boundary layer. Accordingly, the composition of this layer, especially in the last century, is strongly influenced by human activities. Road jams, industrial works, and utilities in the regions of Georgia have a great impact on increasing the concentration of nitrogen oxides. As the air is a prerequisite for human health and the existence of living organisms, we aimed to examine cost-effective commercial sensor system “SOWA” for monitoring the contamination with nitrogen oxides in several central districts of Tbilisi and study its accuracy in comparison to traditional monitoring systems. The research was conducted on the basis of SMART| AtmoSim_Lab, with the support of the National Environmental Agency.
